Gathering Ground: Find your Spirit Guide
Date & Time: Sundays, starting August 9, 2026 at 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM (Eastern Time). Ends November 1
Venue: The Village Worcester, 4 King St.
What if you could create a guide to help you navigate life's challenges, celebrate your strengths, and honor your imagination?
Join artist and educator Michelle de Celia (aka Koza) for a creative journey that combines visual art, poetry, performance, and community connection. Through a series of hands-on workshops, participants will explore cultural traditions, personal symbolism, and storytelling to create a unique "spirit guide" that reflects their inner wisdom, creativity, and aspirations.
The project culminates in a public exhibition and showcase where participants can share their artwork, poetry, and creative discoveries with family, friends, and the wider community.
No previous art, writing, or performance experience is required. All materials will be provided. Participants of all ages are welcome, making this a family-friendly opportunity to create, reflect, and connect through art.
Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
The class does not meet on 9/13.
Come discover the guide waiting within you.
This program is supported in part by a grant from the Worcester Arts Council, a local agency, which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

When everything feels manufactured, Sweet Avocado offers another way
—handmade goods created by real people, for lives shaped by ritual, beauty, and joy.
My name is Michelle de Celia (MdCLG), and I’m the founder and Artistic Director of Sweet Avocado. Sweet Avocado is a lifestyle brand for people who want more than greige, who believe everyday routines can be small rituals. That might look like putting on a pair of one-of-a-kind statement earrings that always earn compliments, or slipping a handcrafted bookmark into the paperback you read before bed. We create for those who are tired of mass-produced everything and who value the care, originality, and connection that come with handmade work. Sweet Avocado offers a range of thoughtfully made, one-of-a-kind pieces—from accessible entry-level items to collectible works—designed and created in our studio. We are a woman-owned, artist-founded business rooted in the belief that meaningful, authentic self-expression should be available to everyone.

Mission Trip to Brazil in Collaboration with Digi Chivetta.
For this trip, we will research Afro-diasporic traditions that have influenced the philosophy behind the Grove Temple, and support community-based projects in Worcester, MA.
Fitchburg artist Digi Chivetta, creator of the Fitchburg Abolitionist Park mural and exhibiting artist at the Fitchburg Art Museum, is bringing her journal-based artwork to life as a tarot deck called The Grove Major Arcana.
